Hot Off The Press

You will be assimilated...

Blatting about: lifeOr not.  Short version, according to last night's bizarro dream, there's going to be a merger between "this" world and "some other dimension/universe" soon if it's not happening already. Now that I'm awake I'm wondering if it was Yet Another Incarnation of the Crazy Dog House, though I don't recall seeing a cliff this time. ...

Funding, distribution and musings on my sanity (or lack thereof)

Blatting about: AEfter RagnarokBusiness has been going pretty well.  This is great, and it also means I haven't had a chance to work much on AR.  I've been proofing and editing the scripts in between banging my head against code and deciphering client requests, and spent a whack of Sunday working on Red, but I'm pretty sure at this stage that I...

New camera, more aquaponics photos

Blatting about: lifeWe finally bought a NAS, it's living next to the router (which makes logical sense as it has to plug into the router).  I'm currently copying all the music and photos onto it and will probably delete them off my computer as part of my cleanup process (moving a bunch of Stuff off the 250Gb ssd to the 2Tb sata).  Moving the...

Blatting about: webmonkeyingbek 6/04/12 10:23 PM hee hee other cool thing with sass, i do this: @mixin inline-block {  display: inline-block;  margin: 0 -2px;  vertical-align: top; } and then when i need things inline-blocked etc (in a few places) i do: #container {  .stuff-what-needs-inlining {  {    @include inline-block;  } } Darqx...

css notes: fixed middle fluid outer column

Blatting about: webmonkeyingAlso known as: I'm a blithering idiot. I spent way too long overthinking this problem and only finding solutions with floats (I have very specific cases where I'll use floats for layout, also I could have missed anything that didn't use floats for layout as I was stupidly staying up way too late when working on this)....

The Writing on the Wall

You know it's no fun if the bad guys can actually HIT the heroine... Emotion: wink.gif

Had to make the client's character the star of the show. Emotion: biggrin.gif How he got up there? Well maybe they're jumping from a really high rooftop.

Jet's boots are made for kicking tanks and buildings. Emotion: smile.gif So yeah, they're a little weird.
Dualmask
Yeah, the client's a fan of really big characters. I actually drew him smaller than usually depicted by his creator if you can believe it. Emotion: smile.gif

I really rushed this one. It was a freebie I did to practice coloring on my tablet. Surprisingly, the guy liked it a lot and expressed interest in hiring me to color more work.
Dualmask
Don't ask me how I came up with them. Just out of nowhere one day I decided that hot girl + huge rocket boots = coolness. Emotion: biggrin.gif

Sorry for the delay in replying; I can't access Artician as frequently as I used to. In fact, I'm on my mobile now. With this drawing, it's because her loin cloth is transparent and she's not actually wearing anything underneath it... ;-)

That Psylocke image isn't mine. I just reblogged it on Tumblr. I can see why that would be confusing...maybe I should break my connection between Artician and Tumblr...

WEAPON Combat League is this large scale story I came up with when I was a little burnt out from my main idea and needed something totally different. It's the antithesis of my ongoing webcomic in every way, combining science fiction fantasy and anime-like themes with a soap opera style storyline (told from changing POVs). I've been developing it for many years but feedback has always been tepid at best, which made it hard for me to stay motivated. Lately I've been discovering that relying on feedback to tell you whether something is good or not is not the way to go.

The app is Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile, the phone version of the popular Sketchbook Pro drawing program. I'm not that good with it myself yet, but it has a lot of nice drawing options. Mine is the paid version but the free versions out there are just as effective. I would have stuck with one if the paid version wasn't on sale for ten cents when I bought it. Emotion: wink.gif

As for the stylus, the little string hanging from it actually allows me to attach it to the headphone jack (or any headphone jack, really) for storage. I also have a soft bag to carry it in; it wasn't that expensive.

Lightwave! ah yes but I'm sure you were using a much older program but I could be wrong. I have not played with that software but if that works for you I say stick with it Emotion: smile.gif

For my site I'm using D7, D6-D7 can get be frustrating as you need to make sure all modules are D7 compatible. Not sure how familiar are you with Drupal but if you have questions feel free to ask me, I'm pretty good with the software not expert though but enough to help I think Emotion: biggrin.gif

I have not spoken with the devs for a long time to be honest, the reply system needs improvement I agree. But hey at least we have one lol
Zenko
What was the 3D software you use? Yeah I hear you on those distractions heh 2012 is the art year I think we should all try to get back into making stuff we enjoy. I've played a bit with Cinema 4D lately, I know is not the best 3D software but it's the one I enjoy and easy to use right of the back.

Thanks for the comment on my site, I'm using drupal to build it Emotion: biggrin.gif It's been very fun, oh I love drupal!
Zenko
I'm catching up where I left off in the art/design world ^^ working on my site imzenko.com hehe, seems you have been busy here Emotion: biggrin.gif

We all get that way sooner or later..... I'm in the later stage.
Thanks for the comments Don

Emotion: laugh.gif That page was just something I doodled up at work when I couldn't work on my webcomic (no Photoshop at the ol' 9-5). You spend too much time looking at one thing and you're bound to burn out, so sometimes you gotta do something different.

And actually I don't really dig the chainmail bikini concept either; I built this other concept specifically to be more family-friendly and universally appealing.

Thanks!
